Consumers are expecting to have a greater ‘behind the scenes’ of what is happening at the farm” states Grant McCarty, Local Foods and Small Farms Educator. “The challenge is that best practices for digital marketing tend to not recognize the uniqueness that is a local food entrepreneur that depends on customers coming to the farmers markets, visiting the orchard, and/or ordering their CSA box.” The Deeper Roots: Digital Marketing in the Local Food System program is tailored for local food entrepreneurs who sell produce, meat, eggs, and/or value added products through farmers markets, CSAs, local restaurants, orchards, farm stands, and other channels. This class will be geared toward those who will be using digital marketing to share their farming story and create greater brand awareness. The class is designed for those who have already setup a digital presence such as a Facebook Fan Page, website, or other.
